“Forward” is a graphic visual essay that was created around my belief that our literal liberty – Lady Liberty – and the soul of our American identity is at stake. It consists of 9 double-page layouts. It is a mix of still and moving images built upon the ideals of today’s collective cultural and political power of women and their impact on the upcoming 2020 election. (Though owing to the pandemic, instead of a traditional shoot, the vision was brought to life through a mix media of illustration and photographs.)

The story grounded and given character by my respect to activists/writer @amandascgorman and @SusanSarandon — inspired throughout by their unapologetic abilities to use their voices to inform their audiences about issues they care about, taking it upon themselves to call out harmful behavior when they see it.

“Forward” is also my way to continue the work that was started through my first political/fashion editorial, “Fight Like a Girl,” — my way to help amplify the Voices of the Women’s Marches.
